At Shockwave we promote participation in rebound beach volleyball events each year. We invite Shockwave teams and individual players to play in managed events. Other beach volleyball businesses in Queensland also run events. As a business we appreciate Shockwave representation where we can. Each business in this industry supports promotion of the sport.
Our colleagues from other beach volleyball businesses run some fantastic events. Participation is a great way to improve how well teams play volleyball. Additionally, the social interaction with other teams is very rewarding.
Every year we make new singlets, polo shirts, shorts & tights that Shockwave players can buy. These are great for promoting camaraderie when representing Shockwave at another club. It also gives players a uniform designated for when they play beach volleyball. We take care in the design and ensure lightweight and comfort are within the design.
Beach Volleyball Finals Events at Shockwave
On top of the nightly competitions that run for 16 week seasons, we also run finals events. These determine the premier team from each nightly competition in a season. We invite the top 4 teams from each competition to play off against each other to find out who takes out top spot. You can expect to play one to two games if you make top 4 in our finals series. Cost of the activity is one game credit and most teams make a day of it. Food and drink purchases are from The Grove Sports Club bar throughout the day.
Rebound Beach Volleyball Events Calendar
Sideout – is a series of rebound beach volleyball events. Played at Quicksand Rebound Volleyball in Bundamba, it is very popular. Throughout the year they run a 2-A-Side, 3-A-Side, 4-A-Side and 6-A-Side mixed mens & ladies events. Shockwave is well represented at these events. It’s a great opportunity to play new teams, meet new people and develop skills of the game. Side Out events are open to all levels of experience.
Shock 4’s – (March) a new event started in 2021. We invite local clubs and our teams within Shockwave to play. The tournament competitions are teams of 4 in Open A, Open B, Ladies A and Ladies B. We also run a Mixed competition. The event ran one day of the weekend this year and we’d like to see this grow.
The Interclub Challenge – hosted by Rebound Volleyball Queensland. This is a 6-A-Side competition with a variety of divisions – Opens, Ladies, Mixed, Masters and Juniors. Interclub runs across 6 weekends between February – August. Teams nominated to play keep the same players throughout the events.
